fado.today is operated by Fábio ("I", "the site"). This policy explains what data I collect, why, and what rights you have.

What I collect

Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and PostHog (European instance, data hosted in the EU) to understand how people use the site — which pages they visit, how long they stay, where they come from. These services use cookies. I do not collect names, emails or data that personally identifies you through analytics.

Affiliate link clicks. When you click a booking link (for example, to Viator), I record that click anonymously. This lets me know which recommendations generate bookings and, in turn, commissions. The record includes: the link clicked, the source page, the date and time. It does not include personal data.

Contact form. If you write to me through the form, I collect your name, email and message — only to reply to you. I do not add your email to any marketing list.

Third-party cookies. Booking partners (Viator) may set their own cookies when you visit their sites from one of my links. Those cookies are the responsibility of those partners — consult their respective privacy policies.

Why I collect

• To understand which content is useful and improve the site.
• To measure the result of the affiliate partnerships that sustain the site.
• To reply to you when you contact me.

Data retention

• Analytics: GA4 and PostHog data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
• Link clicks: retained for 12 months for the purpose of commission reconciliation.
• Contacts: your email and message are kept as long as they are needed for the conversation; I delete them when they are no longer relevant.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access the data I hold about you.
• Rectify incorrect data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to the processing of your data for analytics purposes.
• Portability — receive your data in a structured format.
• Withdraw consent for cookies at any time, through your browser settings or the site's cookie banner.

How to exercise your rights

Write to me through the contact form or by email. I identify the data associated with your request and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with my reply, you can lodge a complaint with the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados), the Portuguese supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy in any significant way, I update the date at the top and, where possible, give notice on the homepage. I recommend you check it periodically.
