Lisboa em Fado — an hour of fado in the Baixa, with port wine
A short show, about 50 minutes, in a dark room next to the Baixa-Chiado metro, with a glass of port. €19.99 per person, every day. For those short on time who want to listen without dinner.
Short answer
Lisboa em Fado is a short show on Rua do Crucifixo, next to the Baixa-Chiado metro exit: about an hour of fado, with Portuguese guitar, viola and one or two voices, and a glass of port wine. It costs €19.99 per person on the house's website and there are sessions every day. There's no dinner. It's for those short on time or who already have somewhere to eat.
It's a format designed for visitors to Lisbon: a small, dark room, a video presentation on the history of fado, and live fado without a microphone. Three historic Portuguese guitars are on display in the room — Raul Nery's, Jorge Fontes's and José Nunes's.

What the session is like
Get there about fifteen minutes early: seats are first come, first served. During the fado, absolute silence is asked for, with no flash and no video. Children under four aren't admitted.
The most common criticism from people who've been is the balance: some feel the video takes up too much time compared with the live music. If all you want is fado, without the explanation, there are rooms that give you more music for the same price.
How much it costs
On the house's website, €19.99 per adult, €17 for ages 12 to 17 and €14 for ages 4 to 11, with a glass of port (or juice). The terms change depending on where you buy: on the house's website the ticket is non-refundable, while some platforms let you cancel up to 24 or 48 hours before.

Who it's for — and who it isn't
It's for those who have a free hour between the afternoon and dinner, are in the Baixa and want to hear fado without committing to a whole night.
It isn't for those who want a proper fado house, with dinner and sets of fado late into the night. To compare short formats: Fado no Chiado is nearby, up the hill towards Chiado, and Fado in Alfama is an hour of fado in the neighbourhood where it was born.
